Dive 400 was the last of thirty-three dives in two weeks of shore diving on Bonaire, under the Salt Pier. The pier’s pilings stand in rows down the slope, and every one is covered in sponges and coral.

It was a late-afternoon dive, 69 minutes to 16 m in 29 °C water. There were peacock flounders on the bottom, with blue-ringed spots and eyes up: one at 10.5 m a quarter of an hour in, and another in the shallows towards the end.
